Another great thing about this dessert is that it’s a treat that almost everyone can enjoy, as it contains no gluten and no dairy, so no one has to feel left out. Want to know what’s even better? This recipe is SO easy to put together, and doesn’t require any baking. Where’s the ‘love’ button?!? :)

We found this creative recipe at evite.com, but decided to add our own twist to it!

Here are the ingredients and materials that you’ll need for the fruit flag:

  • 12 wooden skewers
  • 1 large serving tray
  • 1 lb of strawberries
  • 6 oz of blueberries
  • 3 bananas

Here are the ingredients if you want to take things up a notch by pairing the fruit with dark chocolate fondue (yum!):

  • 1 cup (or 8 oz) of dark chocolate chips (Make sure they’re gluten free and dairy free! A great choice is ‘Enjoy Life’ dark chocolate morsels.)
  • ¾ cup of full fat coconut milk

Directions for Fruit Flag:

  • Rinse and dry strawberries and blueberries.
  • Chop the stems off of the strawberries, then cut into halves from stem to point. Cut the points off of the strawberries and set aside.
  • Slices bananas and set aside.
  • Starting with the blueberries, skewer about six on top and alternate between two banana slices and one strawberry slice until you reach the end.
  • Place on a platter and keep refrigerated until serving.

Now, here is our tasty addition to satisfy the chocolate lovers at your gathering! This is a quick and simple recipe for gluten-free and dairy-free chocolate fondue dip.

Directions for Dark Chocolate Fondue:

  • Pour the coconut milk into a saucepan on medium heat, constantly stirring until it comes to a light simmer.
  • Turn the heat to a low setting, then add the dark chocolate chips.
  • Be sure to stir constantly so that the mixture doesn’t burn.
  • Once the chocolate has melted and is incorporated into the coconut milk, pour into a small serving bowl and enjoy! :)

So awesome, in fact, that we had to do some digging around so that we could make these at home.  View full article →
